Construction method and formula of tile adhesive

Tile adhesive is an adhesive specially used to bond tiles. According to its composition, different products are divided into: cement-based tile adhesive, paste emulsion adhesive and reactive resin adhesive. This section mainly introduces cement-based tile adhesive.
Cement-based tile adhesive is a powdery mixture composed of hydraulic cementing materials, mineral aggregates, and organic additives, which are mixed with water or other liquids when used.
1. The construction methods of cement-based tile adhesive are divided into the following three types
①Back bonding method It belongs to the traditional tile pasting method, which means applying tile adhesive to the back of the tile and then pasting it on the substrate. The thickness of the tile adhesive layer is 5~10mm
②The knife penetration method is to use a toothed spatula to scrape the tile glue batch on the surface of the substrate to be tiled, and then use the toothed spatula to comb it to form a mortar layer with raised stripes and uniform thickness. Then press the tile on top of it and twist it slightly. The thickness of the tile adhesive layer is 2~4mm
③Combination method refers to the combination of back bonding method and penetration method, that is, the trowel method is used to scrape the tile glue batch onto the surface of the substrate to be tiled to form a mortar layer with raised stripes and uniform thickness. Then apply a thin layer of tile glue on the back of the tile, and then stick the tile on the surface of the base material wet and wet. The thickness of the tile glue layer is 3-5mm
2. Features
(1) Applied to tile adhesives under different conditions
①Ordinary base material or ordinary ceramic tiles (such as interior decoration)
②Low water absorption tiles (such as vitrified tiles)
①Smooth and non-absorbing substrate.
④Substrates that tend to shrink
⑤There is enough time to adjust the tiles
⑥Temperature changes (such as exterior walls or geothermal, etc.)
(2) Required performance
①Easy to construct
②Slip resistance
③ Completely wet
④Ask when opening (no crust)
⑤There is enough time to adjust the tiles
④It has good bonding strength with different substrates under different climatic conditions
3. Material composition and reference formula
(1) Material composition
①Inorganic cementitious material Ordinary Portland cement, which enhances the bonding strength to the substrate.
②Organic cementitious materials can redisperse latex powder to enhance the bonding strength to all substrates (especially non-porous substrates, large-size tiles, or paste on smooth and unstable substrates), reduce elastic modulus, and improve Workability, reducing water permeability, etc.
③Filling graded sand and heavy calcium, filling materials and adjusting the consistency of the adhesive, its particle size is very important
④The main additive, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, is the main water-retaining thickener of the mortar, which keeps the moisture in the adhesive and gives the adhesive good workability (the mortar is thin in the thin-layer construction process, and the cement reacts with water. It is easy to lose water before, such as evaporation, it is absorbed by the substrate and tiles)
5. Other functional additives According to the performance of the mortar, improve the characteristics of a certain aspect of the mortar, and further optimize the product formula.
