Difference Between Resin Powder and Redispersible Latex Powder
First, the nature is different.
1. Resin powder. It’s a kind of white powder with good fluidity, which is made of high molecular polymer resin,ultra-fine load anti-consolidation agent and a variety of functional additives.
2. Redispersible latex powder. Redispersible latex powder is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate.It’s divided into ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer, vinyl acetate / tert vinyl carbonate copolymer, acrylic acid copolymer and so on.
The powder adhesive made by spray drying uses polyvinyl alcohol as protective colloid.This kind of powder can be quickly dispersed into emulsion after contact with water because the redispersible latex powder has high bonding ability and unique properties.
Second, the functions are different. 1. Resin powder. It’s used in the external wall external insulation industry to replace the traditional latex powder with high cost and high addition. 2. Redispersible latex powder. The main results are as follows: 1. The redispersible latex powder can be dispersed to form a film and play a reinforcing role as the second adhesive.The protective colloid is absorbed by the mortar system (after the film is formed, it will not be destroyed by water, or “secondary dispersion”). 3. The polymer resin formed by the film is distributed as a reinforcing material in the whole mortar system, thus increasing the cohesion of the mortar.
