Application to common mortar
In the process of commercialization of ready-mixed mortar, HPMC cellulose ether plays a milestone role. The reasonable application of cellulose ethers makes the mechanization of ready-mixed mortar possible. The good performance of cellulose HPMC can significantly improve the construction performance, pumping and spraying performance of mortar. Its thickening ability can improve the wetting ability of wet mortar to the base wall, thus improving the bond strength of mortar. It can adjust the open time of mortar. Unparalleled water retention capacity. It can greatly reduce the chances of plastic cracking of mortar. It makes the hydration of cement more complete, thus improving the overall structural strength. As a good mortar, for example, mortar mix should have good construction properties easy to mix, good wetting of the base wall, smooth application without sticking to the knife, sufficient operable time (small loss of consistency), easy leveling. Application to putty
The addition of HPMC to putty provides good substrate wetting properties, recoatability, smooth scrapability, sufficient workable time and other construction properties, as well as excellent bonding properties, flexibility, sandability and durability. In the Eastern aesthetic view, a smooth and flat building surface is usually considered beautiful. This is where the application of putty comes into play. Putty is a thin layer of plastering material that plays an important role in the decorative and functional aspects of a building. The three levels of decorative coating the base wall, the putty leveling layer and the finish layer, have different main roles, each with different modulus of elasticity and deformation coefficients. When the ambient temperature and humidity change, the deformation of the three layers also differs. This requires a suitable modulus of elasticity for the putty and finish layers. It is necessary to rely on its elasticity and flexibility to eliminate concentrated stresses and to resist cracking of the base layer and prevent peeling of the finish layer.

Application to tile adhesive
As a functional decorative material, tile has been widely used around the world. And how to paste this durable material well and make it safe and durable is always a concern. The emergence of tile adhesives has ensured the reliability of tile adhesion to a certain extent. Different construction habits and work methods have different construction performance requirements for tile adhesives.
