Construction additive uses by different dry mortar additives

1. Redispersible Polymer powder

The Redispersible Polymer Powder RDP is a special polymer powder made after spray drying.

The powder mix with the water can become an emulsion again and has the same properties as the emulsion. Through the water evaporates, it can form a film again. And the film has high flexibility, high weather resistance and high adhesion to various base layers.

Therefore, it is an indispensable raw material in dry-mixed mortar, which can improve performance and strength, bonding of dry-mixed mortar with various substrates & the flexibility, compressive strength, also abrasion resistance of dry-mixed mortar. In addition, mixed with water-repellent latex powder can make the dry mortar waterproof.

2. Cellulose Ether

Cellulose Ether with different viscosities has different uses. For example,CMC usually used in low-grade putty powder for interior walls to thicken water retention and increase leveling.

Methyl cellulose MC and HPMC have a good water retention and not affected by changes in pH. The viscosity from 50,000 to 200,000mpa.s. The viscosity is inversely proportional to the bond strength. High viscosity but low strength, generally between 50,000 and 100,000. Mainly to increase the leveling and construction properties of dry mortar and appropriately reduce the amount of cement.

3. Cellulose Fiber

The role of Cellulose Fiber in dry mortar is to resist cracking. When lignin is dispersed in water,it is in the form of short fibers. For example, when building walls with soil in China, wheat straw and rice straw to resist cracking. When using lignin, it is best to choose pure materials without impurities.

4. Inorganic bonding materials-Gray Calcium Powder

Gray calcium powder is calcium hydroxide, a commonly inorganic binding material. Mainly play a binding role in the putty powder to achieve waterproof and water-resistant effects.
